Sha Tin brought to life through light and motion

Zone 1 Light show of ShaTin is an interactive, multi-screen installation that brings the story of Sha Tin to life through moving images, sound and light. A large main display, a screen built into the table and a visitor-controlled tablet work together to create one continuous experience across the physical space.

One story across the whole space

The experience begins with a simple tap on the tablet. As the presentation unfolds, the main and table displays play complementary visuals while the lighting responds at key moments. This coordination extends the story beyond a single screen, allowing visitors to experience the content as part of the surrounding environment.

An experience guided by visitors

After the opening sequence, visitors can choose what they would like to explore next. Four chapters introduce Sha Tin through light and shadow, the T4 project, the district’s wider development and the transport network of New Territories East. The simple bilingual tablet interface makes the experience approachable, while each selection transforms the larger displays around it.

Designed as one complete experience

Although the installation is made up of several screens and physical elements, it is designed to feel like a single, seamless light show. Every transition is carefully coordinated so that visitors can focus on the story. The result is an accessible and engaging way to discover Sha Tin’s changing landscape, major developments and connections with the wider region.
