A living panorama of Sha Tin where visitors create their own character, share their favourite local elements and become part of the scene.

A shared world shaped by its visitors

Virtual Sha Tin World turns the district’s familiar places, local culture and everyday moments into a playful, animated landscape. Spanning the Zone 2 and 3 video wall, the scene brings together the city, river and sky. Visitors can do more than watch: they can create a character and join the world themselves.

From a postcard to a place in the scene

The connected kiosk offers two ways to join in. Visitors with a Pick4ShaTin postcard can scan their selection of favourite elements; those without one can go straight to creating their character. Clear bilingual instructions guide the journey from the first choice to the final reveal.

Postcard choices also feed back into the shared landscape. Selected elements grow in prominence on the wall, allowing visitors’ interests to help shape the scene around them.

Meet your Sha Tin character

A selfie becomes the starting point for a personalised avatar. Visitors choose a destination in the city, river or sky, preview their character and send it into the Virtual Sha Tin World. A QR code lets them take away a character card as a reminder of their visit.

A landscape that keeps moving

Characters wander through the scene while animated transport, landmarks and local details give the panorama its rhythm. The kiosk and wall form one connected experience: a personal moment of creation becomes part of a space everyone can enjoy together.
